While we are in the midst of Hanukkah and less than a week away from Christmas, we wanted to share some simple resources to help you have an amazing Kwanzaa celebration. Kwanzaa was created by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966 and is celebrated for seven days. Whether you are experienced or interested in celebrating Kwanzaa for the first time, the resources listed below will enhance your knowledge of the holiday.
1. "Kwanza Fun" by Linda Robertson and Julia Pearson is a children's book that has Kwazaa crafts, symbols and recipes.
2. This video demonstrate the basics of celebrating the holiday.
3. Click here to visit one of the official websites to learn about Kwanza. You can also download our free Kwanzaa Symbol activity sheet below. This resource is a great way to begin teaching your students about the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa.
From our family to yours, we hope that you have a peaceful and blessed holiday season.
