One of the of the fun things about teaching art in the last 15 years is learning about all of the great ways to use technology in the art room. I really enjoyed looking for innovative ways to use technology in my art room. Here's a quick list of my top three favorite tech tools. (Click on each title to learn more about the tech tool.)
1. Document Camera Before 2009, I had never heard of or used a document camera. It is an amazing multi-media tool that connects to a computer and/or LCD projector. 2. Smartboard I loved using a Smartboard in my art room because it is interactive. We hope you are having an amazing summer. In a few short weeks, many students and instructors will be going back to school. Today, we want to share our new resource that is a great tool for learning about new students at the beginning of the semester. One of the first things I did with every class at the beginning of each semester or year, was to have each student to share personal information about themselves by standing up and answering a few simple questions. They would share details such as their names, favorite talent, favorite art tool, etc.... This helped to break the ice and show the students that I was interested in getting to know each of them. Our new Student Artist Profile activity sheet allows you to use the same technique in your classroom. This activity works well for students from grades 1-12. Let us know how you learn about your new students by commenting below.
