Happy New School Year! We hope you had a fantastic summer. This week is the first official week of school in the district we teach in. Many of you have already gone back to school. Here are three simple art ideas to get the year started off right in your art space.

​1. Our Student Artist Profile resource is a great way to learn about the young artists in your classroom. This resource can be used with students in grades 3-12.

​2. Using drawing videos can be a fun and simple way to assess art students drawing ability. Here's one of our videos in which we use numbers and letters to create simple pictures.

​3. Our Art Definition poster is a great way to spark conversation by asking each student how they define art. Upper elementary students can write their definitions at the beginning of the year. Ask them to write their definitions at the end of the year on a different sheet of paper and then have them to compare their definitions.
